Sneak peak into the journey of a productive, smart and hard-working product manager!
Call her efficient, smart, or clever- she definitely has the knack to carry out her responsibilities in an effective manner. Ask her interns & they’ll let you know how her management skills are quite underrated. Presenting the employee interview of the month- Ayashree.
Here’s an insight into her journey:
First off let’s start by getting to know more about Ayashree and her journey at the organization:
1. First off, we start with the most basic question- How would you describe
your journey at eWards?
After being around for two years (yes, it’s been 2 YEARS!!), I would describe it as a pretty usual journey. Starting from my days as an intern that was filled with a bit of anxiousness to the present day where all the fears and anxiousness related to work has vanished in thin air. I would say the gradual growth that I’ve had has helped me become more confident in my role. I joined eWards during the lockdown, but, work from home was a challenge.
These challenges however have been very enriching for me as a professional. It made me learn how to work better, improved my communication skills with the team & improved my confidence with my role. I am delighted and grateful for working at eWards.
2. How would you describe your role and your background?
No matter how rosy and incredible my role looks in the present, the initial days were quite tough. I started as an intern under the watchful eyes of Ritika, but, I learnt along the way and completed my internship period.
Then Ritika departed and I had a lot of responsibilities on my shoulders. Despite of the magnitude these responsibilities were a blessing for me, it is a blessing that I still adore till this day. It helped me develop necessary skills to become a better team player, to lead my own team and to grow in my role.
Since I joined during lockdown, there’s a complete chapter for my work from home experience- it started in the classic tech team way (no, we’re not revealing the classic ways). My usual work revolved around hours and hours of calls (it developed patience), mails and meetings and by the time I would reach EOD, I would be exhausted. This required a little balance and once I got a hold of it, things became manageable.
And.. the HR Team for the work they put behind organizing various events that make the workplace more fun.
If I were to point a difference between now and then, it would be in terms of
responsibility. Then was different and now its’ completely different, helping me evolve into a better person both professionally and personally.
I am very grateful to the entire tech team, they helped me develop a structured approach towards work, projects and instilled necessary qualities to be a Team Leader. And there’s my team of analysts who constantly put in efforts to ensure our products are doing well. Whenever I do a review of their work, or see that they’re not working properly I do reprieve them and make them understand. It does bring back flashback scenes to when I had joined, all that scolding and guidance from Ritika & Ashish. Its’ been a journey full of lessons and learning.
3. Wonderful, what do you like the most about working at eWards?
Firstly, I love the freedom I get with regards to my work, the freedom makes it
worthwhile- you are expected to take responsibility and ownership of your work. Besides that a majority of my colleagues are in the same group, a company full of young minds which makes the entire office experience quite unique (plus everyone is approachable)
Secondly, the team that works under me, being responsible for them, being
responsible for work that has been assigned and most importantly my role of being
a Product Brainiac — I love the analysis part — it teaches you a lot. All our products are very dynamic, I have learnt this while working with Ashish, Subhankar, Sir and the team as we continuously work to make our products dynamic and user friendly.
And in terms of ‘chill scenes’ we have so many office events including parties and co-curricular events
4. What would be your word of advice for new joinees?
I think you need to be patient and dedicated towards your work, specially while working as a Product Analyst. You really need to up your street smarts with your work. When I had joined, I did with very little knowledge about tech, but the company and the team has been quite patient with me & helped me polish my skills. You won’t be spoon-fed but you will definitely be helped out by anyone you reach out to.
Just remember to take your opportunities and do justice with the work and tasks assigned to you.
5. And finally, what sort of personality traits thrive in the company?
I would state that the culture around eWards is brilliant. One can learn from
anyone and everyone and most importantly eWards empower women, it’s different from a majority of tech companies. When you work here you feel a strong sense of loyalty towards the company and sir’s vision for the company.
Here’s a fun fact- Ayashree is the oldest member of the analyst team, AFTER ASHISH (You can contact HR for cross-checking purposes).Until Then…
